Boris Alexandrovich Smirnov (February 3, 1921 – August 17, 1949) was a Soviet Hero and Senior Sergeant. He commanded a gun in the 1st battery of the 306th separate anti-tank artillery division during World War II. Participating in key battles for Smolensk and Poland, Smirnov's bravery earned him the title of Hero of the Soviet Union in 1945. After the war, he served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Estonia, where he lived until his death. He is remembered with memorials in his hometown and a street named in his honor.
