Baracoa, also known as Barakoa, is a municipality in the Guantánamo Province of Cuba, located at the eastern end of the island, on the northern coast of the province, with a latitude of 20.3466700 and longitude of -74.4958300. It is the oldest European settlement in Cuba, founded by Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar in 1511. Baracoa has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. It is a popular tourist destination due to its beautiful beaches, lush vegetation, and rich history and heritage, including the nearby Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
