Moa, also known as Minas de Hierro Moa, is a city and municipality located on the northern coast of Holguín Province, Cuba, at latitude 20.6569400 and longitude -74.9402800. The city has a tropical climate with average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 30°C throughout the year. Moa was founded in 1916 and its history is closely linked to the mining of nickel and cobalt. The city is also known for its rich cultural heritage, including the traditional Cuban music genre known as "son".
