Colorno is a town in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, located about 15 kilometers northwest of Parma. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cool, damp winters. Colorno's history dates back to the 10th century, when it was a possession of the Bishop of Parma. In the 15th century, the town was acquired by the Sanseverino family, who built the Palazzo Ducale, a magnificent palace that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Colorno is also home to the Museo di Palazzo Ducale, which houses a collection of paintings, sculptures, and other works of art from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
