Nisterberg is a small municipality in the Westerwaldkreis district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, located in the valley of the Nister River at an elevation of 350 meters. The village has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Nisterberg was first mentioned in 1281 and was part of the County of Sayn until 1806. The village's main landmarks include the 13th-century St. Bartholomew's Church and the 16th-century Nisterberg Castle.
