Prudnik, known historically as Neustadt in Oberschlesien, is a town in southwestern Poland, located in the Opole Voivodeship. It lies near the border with the Czech Republic, at the confluence of the Prudnik and Biała Głuchołaska rivers, in the Silesian Lowlands. The town has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Its history dates back to the 13th century, and it has been part of Poland since 1945. Prudnik's heritage includes numerous historical buildings, including the 14th-century castle, the 16th-century town hall, and the 17th-century Jesuit church.
