ʻAbd al-Ghaffār Makkāwī (January 11, 1930 - December 24, 2012) was an Egyptian philosopher, translator, and literary writer. He was renowned as one of the best translators from German to Arabic, translating works by notable philosophers such as Kant and Heidegger, in addition to numerous literary and critical works. Makkāwī was born in Belqas, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt and made significant contributions to philosophy and literature.
