Eli Yeshai, born on December 26, 1962, in Jerusalem, is an Israeli politician known for leading the far-right Shas party. He served as a member of the Knesset from 1996 until 2015, when he faced a significant defeat in the elections, resulting in his departure from the Knesset. Throughout his political career, he held various ministerial positions, including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labor. In December 2014, he left Shas to establish a new party called Yeshad.
