A. K. Appu was a socialist activist and former member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from the Balussery constituency. He was elected to the third Kerala Legislative Assembly as a candidate of the S.S.P. (Socialist Party). Born in Kakkur in August 1925, he was educated at various institutions and actively participated in socialist movements. A dedicated educator, he held various educational administrative roles and received state recognition for his teaching excellence. He was elected twice to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1965 and 1967. He passed away on January 24, 2005.
