Alexander Lloyd MacDonald was a Canadian politician who served in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly for the Pictou East electoral district from 1963 to 1967 and from 1970 to 1974 as a member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. Born in Garden of Eden, Nova Scotia, he worked as a supervisor at a manufacturing plant. MacDonald won his first election by just 11 votes, lost to a Progressive Conservative candidate in 1967, but reclaimed his seat in 1970 by a margin of 19 votes. He passed away in New Glasgow in 2007.
