He served as the head of the political department at Helsingin Sanomat from 1972 until his dismissal in 1982, following revelations regarding his involvement in writing the book 'Tamminiemen pesänjakajat.' A subsequent arbitration court deemed his dismissal unlawful. Afterward, he continued his career as a freelance writer, authoring books and columns. He was nicknamed 'Loka' by Mikko Laaksonen, the former director of the Finnish Tax Administration.
