Aaro Eino Vakkuri (1943-2002) was a Finnish civil engineer and author. He graduated as a civil engineer in 1968 and held various positions in urban planning and consulting. Vakkuri worked in the construction industry both in Finland and the Middle East, including roles as CEO at Finn-Iran Contractors and Hartela Contractors. He began his writing career after winning an award for fiction in 1973. He is the younger brother of author Juha Vakkuri.
