AB de Villiers, born on February 17, 1984, in Pretoria, is a former South African cricketer and captain of the ODI and T20 teams. He participated in the Cricket World Cups in 2007, 2011, and 2015, as well as several Champions Trophy tournaments and T20I World Cups. He announced his retirement from international cricket on May 23, 2018. In January 2020, he expressed interest in returning for the T20 World Cup but later confirmed he would not participate. On November 19, 2021, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
