Abba Kyari was a Nigerian military officer born on November 17, 1938, and served as the governor of North-Central State (now Kaduna State) from 1967 to 1975 during General Yakubu Gowon's military regime. Notable for surviving a mutiny in 1966, he climbed the ranks to lead the Nigerian Army's 1 Brigade and artillery branch. His tenure as governor included implementing significant development projects in Kaduna City before his death on November 25, 2018.
