Abbas Rahim Zahir, born in 1977, started his football career in the streets before joining the Youth Team of Nafit. He later played for various teams, including Al-Karakh and Al-Police. Rahim won the league title with Al-Police in the 1997-1998 season. He briefly pursued a professional career abroad with a transfer to Al-Jahra SC in Kuwait, becoming the first Iraqi to play in Kuwaiti leagues post-1990. However, his transfer was canceled due to political issues. Rahim has also represented Iraq's youth national team.
