Abbas Shafiee was an Iranian pharmaceutical chemist, born on September 25, 1937, and passed away on June 15, 2016. He served as the president of the faculty of pharmacy at Tehran University and was an accomplished researcher with over 350 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals. Shafiee earned his Pharmacy degree from Tehran University in 1962, followed by a master's degree and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Columbia University, completing his studies in 1965 and 1968, respectively.
