Abd al-Ghafur Arzu is an Afghan poet, writer, and diplomat born on February 17, 1962, in Herat. He grew up in an educated family and began writing poetry in 1979. Following the Soviet-Afghan War, he emigrated to Iran in the same year and settled in Khorasan. He continued his studies in Tehran and earned a PhD in Persian literature from Tarbiat Modares University. Arzu has held various diplomatic positions for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and has published multiple research papers and poetry collections, particularly notable for his literary studies on Abdul Qadir Bedil.
