Abd al-Latif al-Badri was an Iraqi physician, researcher, and the Minister of Health from 1965 to 1966. He is recognized as one of the prominent surgeons in Iraqi medical history, performing several innovative surgeries for the first time in Iraq, such as vagus nerve surgery for gastric ulcers, freezing treatment for hemorrhoids, and pancreatic tumor excision. He actively contributed to medical education in Iraq, published numerous research papers, and held leadership roles such as the regional chair of the International Academy of Gastroenterology and the International Association of Universities.
