Abdul Jerri (born July 20, 1932) is an Iraqi-American mathematician known for his contributions to the Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem, a fundamental principle in modern digital technology. He has also contributed to the understanding of the Gibbs phenomenon and authored works such as 'Introduction to Integral Equations with Applications' and 'Introduction to Wavelets.' Jerri earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Baghdad in 1955, a master’s from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1960, and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Oregon State University in 1967. He worked at Clarkson University until his retirement in 2002.
