Abdul Kadir was a Bangladeshi poet, literary critic, and metrist, known for his contributions to Bengali literature. He was born on June 1, 1906, in the village of Araishidha in the present-day Brahmanbaria district. Orphaned at an early age, Kadir completed his education by passing the matriculation exam with letters in five subjects from Brahmanbaria Government Ananda High School in 1923, followed by ISC from Dhaka Intermediate College in 1925. He pursued further studies at the University of Dhaka.
