Abdul Karim Abdullah al-Arashi was a Yemeni politician who served as the President of the Yemen Arab Republic for a brief period from June 24 to July 18, 1978. Born in Al-Arush, following the 1962 revolution, he participated in military operations to defend the revolution. Appointed as President of the Constituent People's Council on February 6, 1978, he became acting president after the assassination of President Ahmad Hussein al-Ghushmi. His presidency lasted only 23 days before Ali Abdullah Saleh was elected, after which al-Arashi chose not to run for presidency to avoid a similar fate as other leaders.
