Abdul Latif Rashid, born on August 10, 1944, is an Iraqi Kurdish politician who has served as the President of Iraq since October 13, 2022. Prior to this role, he was the Minister of Water Resources from September 2003 to December 2010 and served as the senior advisor to the Iraqi president from December 2010 until his election as president. He is an active member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and opposed the Ba'ath Party government. Rashid holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Liverpool and both a master's and a doctorate from the University of Manchester.
