Abdul Salam Arif (Arabic: عبد السلام عارف) was the second President of Iraq and a key military leader from February 8, 1963, until his death on April 13, 1966. He was instrumental in the July 14 Revolution, which marked a significant shift in Iraq's governance. Following the downfall of the monarchy, Arif served under Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qasim before eventually becoming president himself. His tenure was marked by political strife and internal conflict, which culminated in his eventual ousting from power.
