Abel Augusto de Almeida Carneiro was a Portuguese lawyer and politician born on March 21, 1926, in Ponte de Lima and passed away on December 11, 1976, in Porto. As the son of the notable Limiano Teófilo Carneiro, he graduated in Law from the University of Coimbra. He dedicated his life to practicing law and was elected as a deputy for the Constituent Assembly (1975/1976) representing the Popular Democratic Party in the Viana do Castelo electoral district. He also wrote poetry throughout his youth, although he never compiled it during his lifetime.
