Wornell managed several businesses and wrote two poetry collections, 'Monarch of the Grump' and 'Rhymes of a Newfoundlander.' He was active in the Methodist College Literary Institute and received awards in the Arts and Letters competition. Wornell passed away on his 90th birthday, October 11, 2004.
