Abhisit Vejjajiva, born on August 3, 1964, in England, is a British-born Thai politician who served as Thailand's Prime Minister from 2008 to 2011. A former university lecturer, he led the Democrat Party from 2005 until his resignation after the party's poor performance in the 2019 election. As leader of the opposition, a role he held from December 2008 until the party's mass resignation in December 2013, he faced legal challenges related to the 2010 suppression of protests. He promoted economic stimulus policies to improve the conditions of rural and working-class Thais.
