Abílio Pereira de Almeida was a Brazilian author, producer, actor, and theater director born in São Paulo on February 26, 1906. He was educated in law and started his career as an actor in charity productions before co-founding the Experimental Theater Group. Almeida was instrumental in the Brazilian Theater of Comedy, known for his works such as 'A Mulher do Próximo'. He also acted in several films and produced significant works in the late 1950s. He died by suicide on May 12, 1977, and was honored posthumously for his contributions to Brazilian theater.
