Abrar Yusra was an Indonesian journalist, poet, novelist, and biographer, born on March 28, 1943, and passed away on August 28, 2015. He authored numerous biographies of Indonesian figures, including Selo Soemardjan and Amir Hamzah. Before focusing on biography writing, he served as a journalist, including a nine-year tenure as managing editor at Harian Singgalang. His novel, Tanah Ombak, received the Mastera Literary Award in 2003. Yusra was also a member of the Jakarta Arts Council from 1991 to 1993.
