Abū al-Wafā al-Marāghī was an Egyptian scholar, born in 1905 in Meragha, Sohag Governorate. He completed his primary education at Al-Azhar, followed by secondary schooling and obtaining a high-level diploma in 1930. He specialized in rhetoric and literature in 1933. He served as a court clerk in Sohag and held a teaching position in Al-Azhar institutes. In 1946, he became the director of the Al-Azhar Mosque library for 27 years and was appointed assistant secretary of the Islamic Research Academy in 1969.
