Abu Tahsin al-Salhi, born Ali Jiad Obeid in 1953 in Basra, Iraq, is an Iraqi sniper known for his significant role in combating ISIS as part of the Popular Mobilization Forces after 2014. He gained notoriety for his exceptional skills in sniping, reportedly killing over 350 ISIS fighters and leaders. Having participated in several conflicts throughout his military career, including the 1973 October War, the Iran-Iraq War, and the Gulf War, he is referred to as 'the Sniper of Daesh' and is celebrated as a hero among Iraqis.
