Adnan Çolak, born on September 5, 1952, is a Turkish serial killer and rapist known as the 'Artvin Beast' and 'The Axe Killer'. He murdered eleven elderly individuals aged between 68 and 95 in Artvin, Turkey, from 1992 to 1995, and raped six of them before killing them. After his arrest in 1995, his trial lasted over five years, resulting in six death sentences and a 40-year prison term. Following Turkey's abolition of the death penalty in 2004, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. He was released on parole on May 28, 2005.
