Adriana Murgoci (1909-1986) was a Romanian zoolog specialized in ecology, entomology, and ichthyology. Born in Rachiți, she studied biology and later worked at the University of Bucharest, where she held various academic positions from 1942 until becoming a professor in 1965. Murgoci published over 70 scientific works on various species, including new subspecies descriptions. She also taught multiple zoology courses and supervised candidates for doctoral degrees in ecology, significantly contributing to the field of zoology and ecological education in Romania.
