Afifa al-Hisni was a Syrian poet and writer born on December 15, 1918, in Damascus, where she was raised. She earned a degree in Arabic language and literature from Ain Shams University in Cairo. She worked as a teacher of the Arabic language until her retirement. Al-Hisni authored and contributed to various educational books and published many poetry collections along with literary studies. She passed away on September 12, 2003.
