Aflatun Amashov is a journalist and publicist from Azerbaijan. He was born on April 26, 1957, in Faxralı, Bolnisi region. Recognized as a distinguished journalist in Azerbaijan, he served as the chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council from 2003 to 2022. Amashov was also a deputy in the National Assembly of Azerbaijan and previously chaired the 'RUH' Committee for the Defense of Journalists' Rights. He held the position of editor-in-chief for 'Xalq qəzeti'.
