Agustin Anievas, born on June 11, 1934, in New York City, is an American pianist renowned for his expertise in the works of Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. He made his professional debut in 1944 and was the first child to perform at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Anievas won numerous competitions and began his international career after winning the first International Mitropoulos Competition for Pianists in 1961, performing widely in major cultural centers across Europe, South America, and Asia. He has also served as a resident artist and music professor at Brooklyn College.
