Ahmad Danny Ramadan is a Syrian-Canadian novelist, public speaker, columnist, and LGBTQ+ activist born on May 31, 1984, in Damascus, Syria. He fled to Lebanon as a refugee in 2012, and later moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, in September 2014. Ramadan was selected as a participant in the 2016 Vancouver Pride Festival for his work supporting LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers. He also writes a bi-weekly column for Daily Extra, addressing issues faced by LGBTQ+ Syrian refugees.
