Ahmad Mazhar al-'Azma was a Syrian writer, poet, and politician born on April 26, 1909, in Damascus. He studied law and literature, influenced by French literature and his travels. He served as a deputy in the parliament and as Minister of Agriculture, introducing cooperative societies. A talented speaker and writer, he edited the magazine of the Islamic Civilization Society for nearly fifty years, produced poetry collections, literary essays, and explored Islamic education and Arabic culture. He suffered from Parkinson's disease later in life and passed away on December 27, 1982, in Damascus.
