Ahmed K. Elmagarmid, born in 1954, is a prominent computer scientist and academic executive. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Qatar Computing Research Institute in Doha, Qatar. Prior to 2010, he was a full professor of computer science at Purdue University and the Director of the Purdue Cyber Center. He held senior scientist roles at Hewlett-Packard during its acquisition of Compaq, as well as executive positions at Telcordia Technologies and Harris Corporation. Dr. Elmagarmid is a notable researcher with over 150 publications and patents in databases and workflow management systems.
