Ahmed Khalifa Niasse, born on December 25, 1945, in Kaolack, Senegal, is a prominent Senegalese politician, businessman, and religious leader from the influential Niasse family. He is the son of Muhammad Al Khalifa Niasse, a noted scholar and first khalifa of the niassène Tijania branch, and Aminatou Mint Barham from the Idaw Ali tribe of Mauritania. Niasse has held various governmental positions in Senegal, including recently as the Minister in charge of the construction of a new capital. He is the president and founder of the Front des alliances patriotiques (FAP) and is well-connected with many heads of state.
