Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh is a British Pakistani terrorist, born on December 23, 1973. He was involved with Islamist jihadist groups, including Harkat-ul-Ansar, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammed in the 1990s and was associated with Al-Qaeda. He is most notorious for the kidnapping and murder of journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. Initially arrested in 2002, he was sentenced to death, but his conviction was overturned in April 2020. As of March 2021, he remains imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore, pending an appeal.
