He was the son of Prince Muhammad Ali Ibrahim and a descendant of Muhammad Ali Pasha. His mother was Khanzada Sultan, daughter of Shahzada Omar Farouk. Ahmed married Amina Ushakligil on June 26, 1969, but they divorced, and he died single without any children.
