Ahmed Subhy Mansour is an Egyptian Islamic thinker born on March 1, 1949. He was a teacher at Al-Azhar University but was expelled in the 1980s for denying the Hadith and promoting a Quran-only approach to Islamic law. After spending some time in the United States, he returned to Cairo to work at the Ibn Khaldun Center. Following legal issues faced by the center in 2000, he emigrated to the U.S., where he taught at Harvard University and established his own center focused on the Quran. He is known for opposing the ideologies of Islamic groups.
