Aisha Jummai, also known as Mama Taraba, was a Nigerian lawyer and politician. Born on September 16, 1959, she served in President Muhammadu Buhari's government from 2015 until her resignation in July 2018. A former senator representing the Taraba North senatorial district, she initially won her seat under the People's Democratic Party. Later, she transitioned to the All Progressives Congress and was a gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 elections, briefly declared the winner of a court battle, although this decision was reversed on appeal.
