Aishin Imaeda (March 30, 1923 – March 9, 2010) was a Japanese historian, Zen Buddhism researcher, and Soto Zen monk. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1947 and later became a professor, eventually serving as the director of the Tokyo University Historiographical Institute. In 1971, he earned a doctorate in letters for his research on the establishment of medieval Zen temple systems. He passed away at the age of 86 from pneumonia and was posthumously awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure.
