Venerable Acariya Thoon Khippapanyo, known as Luang Por Thoon, was a prominent Thai Buddhist monk born on May 20, 1935. He was ordained at 27 and established Wat Pa Ban Koh in 1985. He founded San Fran Dhammaram Temple in 2002. Renowned for his teachings on wisdom and right view, he authored an autobiography and over 20 texts. He died on November 11, 2008, believed to be an arahant by his followers. His cremation ceremony took place from January 31 to February 2, 2009.
