Colonel Ajay Kothiyal, KC, SC, VSM (Retd) is an Indian politician, former Indian Army officer, and BJP leader. Previously a member of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he was the CM Candidate for the 2022 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly elections but lost. Kothiyal is a philanthropist, known for his mountaineering and for leading rescue efforts in Kedarnath after the 2013 disaster. He founded the Youth Foundation to train youth for the Indian Army and received the Uttarakhand Ratna award in 2016 for his contributions to youth employment in the state.
