Ajith Nivard Cabraal is a prominent Sri Lankan accountant and politician. Born on 14 December 1954, he served as the 16th Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, holding office from 1 July 2006 until 9 January 2015, and resumed the role in September 2021 until April 2022. He has also served as the State Minister of Finance and is a national list member of parliament since 12 August 2020. His contributions have significantly impacted Sri Lanka's financial and economic policies.
