Rolf Åke Grandell (1938-2015) was a Finnish-Swedish journalist, composer, and lyricist based in Kauniainen. He won the first prize in the Pispalan Sottiisi composition competition in 1986. He graduated from Loviisa Swedish Community Lyceum in 1957 and earned a degree in humanities from Åbo Akademi in 1964. Grandell worked as an English teacher and then as an entertainment editor for the Swedish radio unit of Yleisradio until retirement in 2001. He was a founding member and long-time chairman of Tondiktarna and published three poetry collections.
