Akhil Ranjan Chakravarty is an Indian organic chemist born in 1953. He serves as a professor in the Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Science. His research specializes in the reactivity and bonding in multicentered systems. He is recognized as an elected fellow of both the Indian National Science Academy and the Indian Academy of Sciences. In 1998, he received the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research for his significant contributions to chemical sciences.
