Akin Fayomi is a Nigerian diplomat born on 8 November 1955. He served as the Minister/Head of Political Affairs at the High Commission of Nigeria in London from July 2004 to March 2007. He was later the Ambassador and Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission to Liberia from January 2010 to July 2011. Fayomi held the position of Under-Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from July 2011 to July 2012 and then was appointed Ambassador of Nigeria to France from July 2012 to December 2013, also serving as the first Ambassador to Monaco.
